Thérèse et Jacqueline et leurs chandails pures laines

Thérèse and Jacqueline are fictional characters, caricatures of a certain type of Québecois lady. In an innocuous conversation among two best friends, the Québécois expression “pure laine” (literally French for “pure wool”) is inserted, an expression that denotes purity of French ancestry. Created in collaboration with Liz Pieries, one in a series of video experiments in which I explore humour that addresses racism.
